So according to the plan Mary and I came up with, we're cutting back our food intake with a goal of being on just liquids by this weekend. So far (and it's been like 24 hours) Mary is totally kicking my weight-loss butt, and has lost twice as much as I did at the beginning of my first fast. I'm really impressed! And this gives me even more motivation to buckle down and stick to the plan.
I feel like the hardest part of fasting is starting out, because you feel hungry. But the initial drop in weight feels pretty rewarding. I have gained back almost four pounds since I lost the first 15. I attribute this to letting myself go over the past weekend, and drinking beer : (
However, I have new enthusiasm, and a fasting buddy, so I know this second fast will be even better than the first one!
